THURSDAY NIGHT - LSU at Mississippi St

Thurs. Night- LSU at Mississippi St
This, has in the past, been a very hated rivalry with LSU dominating 29-7 in 2010, 30-26 in 2009 and 34-24 in 2008. In 2007 and 2006 LSU crushed the Bulldogs 45-0 and 48-17 respectively. I look for this years outcome at Bulldog Stadium to be a reversal of the past, although when one team has the other teams number for such a long time, the upset is often hard to come by.

Last week LSU had a walk in the park vs Northwestern State 49-3. In the first game of the season they got...
Did you ever wonder.......

Did you ever wonder how many brackets you would have to fill out without duplicating one? This came from Wundedog Sports.
Bracketology by the Numbers
Everyone knows that the tournament starts with 65 teams, but few people have probably done the math to figure out how many possible brackets could be created without duplication. We have done such math work (as I am sure you are interested) and found this number to be 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 possible brackets.
That being said, the 65 vs. 64 game is always played first, so the number of remaining possible brackets decreases to 9,223,372,036,775,808. If you are in one...

INDIANA at the LAKERS

INDIANA at the LAKERS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this game I will throw out all conventional ways of thinking. Most people will jump on the points (Indiana +11'to 12' at most books) due to the Lakers inability to cover the spread in their last six outings(3 of those games at home.)

In the first meeting the Lakers cruised to an easy 22 point win at Indiana at a line of -5' and dominated the game in all fundamental catagories. They can have their way with the Pacers in this game, if they chose to.

Since the Lakers will be getting on a plane headed...

Milwaukee at the HEAT

Milwaukee seems to have found itself, so to speak, after a rather shakey start of the 2009 season. The Bucks acquired John Salmons just before the Feb 18 trade deadline, and he is fitting into the Milwaukee scheme very nicely. Salmons has scored 19,19,15,18 and 20 points in that order in the last five Milwaukee games he played in. Not bad for an immediate fix for some of the Buck's problems. The 30 year old, 6'6" 207 pound Salmons was acquired from the Bulls in a trade which among other things sent Hakim Warrick and...

TRAILBLAZERS at the JAZZ

TRAILBLAZERS at the JAZZ
Portland is riding a psychological high after beating Dallas in overtime and cruising to an easy win over Charlotte on Monday.
Tonight they run into a brick wall at Utah, which is right now playing the best basketball in the NBA in my opinion....which could be looked upon as rather shakey after a last night's pathetic 1-2 pick performance.
The Utah Jazz have won their last 11 games in a row and only failed one time to fall below 100 points in those 11 games and in that game they scored 97 to beat the Cavs 97-96. They are averaging 53.36 shooting % in the last 8 games.
Utah should win this game easily and the total could likely go over. I don't bet too many over/unders so my play will be on the Jazz -7'.

CARDINALS at NEW ORLEANS

CARDINALS at NEW ORLEANS
This game could be a shootout. The two most significant developements for the Saints in my opinion are the loss of defensive end Charles Grant to a torn tricepts muscle, and the return of one of my favorite players, tight end Jeremy Shockey, who will 100%+ for tday's game. He had toe problems for the final three games of the New Orleans season. McCray will start for Grant, and he will be backed up by newly signed veteran Paul Spicer who was cut from the Saints squad in September.

Saints rookie punter, if he plays as he...

AKRON ZIPS at the SYRACUSE ORANGEMEN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Saturday, October 24th at 12 noon, the MAC-East Akron Zips will be hosted by the Big East Syracuse Orangemen at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. This game will be a display of defense prowess with a mixture of offensive fundamentals, and is sure to be a good one.

Akron QB Chris Jacquemain, a three year starter for the Zips, was suspended indefinitely after the Zip's 2nd game of the season, a 41-0 win over Morgan State, for violating undisclosed team rules....

BOISE ST BRONCOS at TULSA GOLDEN HURRICANE
Looking at these two teams, I feel that Tulsa has the more difficult schedule of the two. They will face Houston,E carolina, Southern Miss and Memphis in their final four games of this season( all four were bowl teams last year). The only formidable opponents Boise has after this game is Hawaii, Louisiana Tech and Nevada. The Broncos are undefeated so far this season, just like they were last year before TCU squeeked by them 17-16 in the Poinsettia Bowl. If Boise can win this evening, the odds are fairly good that they...

NEBRASKA HUSKERS at MISSOURI TIGERS

NEBRASKA HUSKERS at MISSOURI TIGERS
Nebraska will take the field tonight at Columbia Missouri to face the unbeaten Missouri Tigers, in a game that is very important to both squads and could have an impact on the Big 12 North championship.
Missouri has not lost a home game to a Big 12 North opponent since 2004(9 straight victories). The Tigers have not hosted a Thurs night Prime Time game since 1992 when they lost a tight game,6 to 0, to the Colorado Buffalos(then #9 in the country) on a very rainy and nasty muddy field. Tonight the weather forecast is...
